Marketplace Manager (Client Facing)

  • Rotterdam Centrum
  • 36-40 hours
  • HBO/WO
  • 0 - 3 jaar
  • 2.700 - 3.500

You quickly see where a brand is leaving opportunities on the table.

You look at revenue, advertising, content, assortment, pricing and stock. You connect the dots, set priorities and decide what needs to happen.

At Brightways you take on a number of brands on Amazon, Bol and other marketplaces.

You are the fixed point of contact for the client. At the same time you work with specialists in advertising, operations, content and design.

You guard the direction and make sure the right things happen.

What you will do

Brands work with Brightways because they want three things: more revenue, better margins and peace of mind.

As a Marketplace Manager you play a central role in that.

You look beyond sales. You want to understand where growth comes from, where return is lost and what a brand needs to move forward.

One day you analyse why a product grows slower than expected.

The next day you discuss an expansion into Germany with a client. Meanwhile you align with Advertising on where budget can work harder and with Operations on which account issues to solve first.

Among other things, you will:

  • manage your own client portfolio
  • analyse revenue, margins, advertising and conversion
  • spot growth opportunities and problems
  • set priorities within accounts
  • develop marketplace strategies
  • advise on assortment, pricing, content and advertising
  • prepare and lead client meetings
  • steer Advertising, Operations, Content and Design
  • track actions and results
  • explore opportunities on new marketplaces and in new countries

So you do not do everything yourself.

But you do need to understand what is happening and be able to decide the next step.

AI is part of the job

Using AI to write a text faster is nothing special to us.

We expect more.

You continuously look at how we can do our work smarter, better and faster.

Which analysis do we run again and again? Which knowledge lives only in someone's head? Which manual task can disappear? And which way of working can we build so the whole team benefits?

You translate that into, for example:

  • clear playbooks
  • AI skills for recurring work
  • agents that run parts of processes on their own
  • better prompts and workflows
  • automations between systems
  • new ways to analyse data faster

You do not have to be a developer.

But we do expect you to discover possibilities yourself, try things out and make a good idea genuinely usable.

At Brightways AI is not a separate project. It is part of how we work.

How you think matters more than what you already know

Experience with Amazon, Bol or other marketplaces is valuable.

But it is not our main selection criterion.

Marketplace knowledge can be learned. Thinking fast, connecting the dots, bringing structure and taking responsibility are much harder to learn.

So we are mainly looking for someone who:

  • is analytically strong
  • grasps new information quickly
  • connects the dots easily
  • is comfortable with numbers
  • works in a structured way
  • separates the essential from the side issues
  • thinks commercially
  • solves problems independently
  • dares to make clear choices
  • takes responsibility
  • is curious
  • picks up new technology quickly
  • communicates clearly with clients and colleagues

So you do not need years of experience with Amazon or Bol.

Experience in marketplaces, e-commerce, marketing, consultancy, data or business can fit well. A smart starter with the right way of thinking can too.

You work and think at bachelor's or master's level.

Strong Dutch and English are a hard requirement. You use both languages daily in conversations, analyses, meetings and client communication.

This probably fits you

You get energy from a problem whose answer is not immediately clear.

You want to understand why something happens. Then you want to do something with it.

You can manage several clients and topics side by side without losing the overview.

And when you see something can be done smarter? You do not wait for someone else to fix it.

This role fits less well if you mainly want to carry out fixed tasks. Or if you like to be told exactly what to do every day.

About Brightways

Brightways specialises in marketplaces such as Amazon and Bol.

We help brands grow in the Netherlands and beyond. Not with loose advice, but by taking responsibility for the daily marketplace result.

In the end it comes down to three things: more revenue, better margins and peace of mind.

Our Marketplace Managers work with specialists in advertising, operations, content and design.

That way one person does not have to be able to do everything. But everyone works from the same plan.

The lines are short and you get a lot of responsibility.

See an opportunity? We expect you to take it. Think something can be better? We want to hear it.

What you get

  • €2,700 to €3,500 gross per month based on 40 hours
  • 23 holiday days
  • holiday allowance
  • travel allowance
  • flexible working hours
  • the option to work up to 40% from home
  • a workplace opposite Rotterdam Central Station
  • direct responsibility for real brands
  • plenty of room to develop yourself
  • plenty of room to experiment with AI and automation
  • a specialised team that works with marketplaces every day
