Graduation Internship Applied AI & Automation

  • Rotterdam Centrum
  • 32-40 hours
  • HBO/WO
  • 500

Brightways is building a different way of working.

Not an agency with a system, but increasingly a system with an agency around it.

We have our own Portal, our own marketplace data tooling via GoSparked and integrations via MCP. AI is already part of that.

Now we want to accelerate.

So we are looking for a strong graduate who helps make AI part of how our whole team works, much faster.

What you will do

AI development at Brightways does not sit with one person.

Marketplace Managers, Advertisers, Operations and other colleagues build their own playbooks, skills and agents for their own work.

You help make that process faster and better.

You work with our internal project lead, the team and an external partner that specialises in AI.

Concretely, you will:

  • help colleagues build good playbooks, skills and agents
  • create standards and templates so we do not start from scratch every time
  • analyse processes and decide where AI genuinely adds something
  • help build more complex skills, agents and workflows
  • put our Portal and GoSparked to smarter use via MCP
  • test and improve existing solutions
  • capture knowledge and best practices for the whole team
  • make solutions reusable across different teams
  • translate new AI possibilities quickly into applications for Brightways
  • help colleagues actually adopt new ways of working

So you also build a lot yourself.

But the goal is not that everyone knocks on your door for AI.

The goal is that the whole team gets better at building and using AI solutions themselves.

Where we are heading

A Marketplace Manager should soon be able to build a skill for a recurring analysis themselves.

An Advertiser should be able to make a playbook for a fixed advertising question.

Operations should be able to deploy agents for processes that now take a lot of manual work.

And our own systems should work with AI ever more smartly.

You help get that done faster.

Not by researching for months what might be possible.

By building, testing, using and then improving things.

You are not on your own

The direction is already set.

The project is carried internally and we also work with an external AI specialist.

The technical base already exists too.

So you do not start with a blank page. You get access to existing systems, data, MCP integrations and real processes within a marketplace agency.

What we mainly expect from you is that you add pace to it.

Who we are looking for

You are in the final phase of a bachelor's or master's programme. For example:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Computer Science
  • Business IT
  • Data Science
  • Information Management
  • Industrial Engineering

In the end we care less about your programme than about how you think and work.

We prefer someone who has already built things themselves alongside their studies.

That can be your own project. A freelance assignment. An automation for a company. An agent you set up yourself. Or anything else where you went from idea to a working solution.

We are mainly curious about what you built yourself and why.

You probably fit well if you:

  • understand new technology very quickly
  • think logically and in a structured way
  • like to build and experiment
  • figure out problems independently
  • use AI daily and intensively
  • are not put off by APIs, MCP, data and automation
  • go from idea to working prototype quickly
  • can explain clearly how something works
  • can help others use new technology themselves
  • would rather deliver something working than only an advisory report

You do not have to be an experienced developer.

But we do expect you to be technical enough to get things working yourself.

Your graduation assignment

Your graduation research connects to what you build at Brightways.

We determine the exact research question together with you and your programme.

We deliberately look for an assignment where research and practice reinforce each other.

In the end we do not want only a good report.

We mainly want to see that AI has demonstrably become more part of how Brightways works.

That means more good playbooks, skills and agents. But above all a team that can build, improve and use them itself.

About Brightways

Brightways specialises in marketplaces such as Amazon and Bol.

Brands work with us for three things: more revenue, better margins and peace of mind.

We work with Marketplace Managers, Advertising Specialists, Operations, Content and Design.

At the same time we build more and more of our own technology.

We have moved away from separate off-the-shelf tools where that made sense and increasingly build around our own Portal, data and processes.

The next step is to integrate AI much more deeply into that way of working.

You get to build on that directly.

What you get with us

  • a graduation assignment that is used directly in practice
  • access to real marketplace data and systems
  • guidance from Brightways and an external AI specialist
  • plenty of room to build and experiment yourself
  • direct collaboration with different teams
  • short lines and fast feedback on what you make
  • a lot of responsibility
  • the chance to help build how an agency can fundamentally work differently

Does it suit both sides? Then we clearly see this internship as a possible step towards a permanent role as Applied AI & Automation Specialist.

How to apply

We do not need a long cover letter.

Send us your CV or LinkedIn profile and above all show us what you have already built.

That can be for your studies, but we would rather also see projects, freelance assignments or your own experiments outside your programme.

Tell us briefly what you made, which problem it solved and what you did yourself to get it working.
